"Halo" is a song recorded and performed by American R&B singer Beyoncé Knowles. It was composed by Ryan Tedder and Evan Bogart. In the United States, the song was released on January 20, 2009 as the album's fourth single. Halo won Best Song at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards, and is currently nominated for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 52nd Grammy Awards.
The song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 on the issue dated February 7, 2009, at number 93 and has peaked to #5, becoming Knowles' 12th Top 10 single on the Hot 100 as a solo artist. With the song's advance, Knowles has the most top tens on the Hot 100 this decade among female artists. However, it should be noted that this sum is including 'Bonnie and Clyde', where she is only a featured artist.
Lisa Lavie is a Canadian-born singer and songwriter who is known for using the Internet to independently promote her own music and concerts, and for working with notable producer Ben Margulies. Lavie's vocals have appeared on soundtracks of major motion pictures, and her independently produced debut album Everything or Nothing was released on iTunes in 2008.
